Reply with quote | #201 | Hi to you all! I know I haven't been around for quite a while, but even though I didn't write, I've been following the discussion pretty closely... and what can I say, once again I think this is one of the best forums out there, if not THE best. ^__^ It's amazing, when I'm out here in the 'real world' I'm always shy about admitting I like S&G... because you know, here S&G are well known, but mostly for songs like Mrs. Robinson and Sound of Silence..and although they are great, wonderful, amazing songs, they're not ALL S&G! But in this forum, no one will call me crazy for liking them so much, for watching the DVD a thousand times over (yep, and I LOVE it!!), or for analyzing every single time they make eye-contact during a concert (yes, I admit it...I can't help it either!)... Anyways... so many of your posts were so hilarious and funny, so many were deep and touching, that I wouldn't know where to start if I had to comment on each and every of them... But I identified to basically everything you said... and again, I feel so stupid for not going to their concert in Rome last year... I'm sure I could've enjoyed them even more LIVE...well, you never know... )) |

Reply with quote | #202 | Yes, I know what you mean. But this place is the best to share your thoughts about S&G and Artie in particular!! Sorry to hear that you didn't go to their Concert, Rome must have been awesome and all those people... But be glad they made this wonderful DVD! __________________ The zebra is the same zebra; we just get to see it from all the angles. - Art Garfunkel - |

Oh, last night I watched my Old Friends DVD, and it reminded me of how anxious I am for the boys to hit the road again. It was about this time last year that I saw them in concert for the first time in St. Louis, I guess thats part of the reason I seem to be longing for another tour. I can hardly imagine how wonderful that would be! So far one of my most cherished memories is of that night in St. Louis, it was pure magic! As Art has sung so many times, it was my "perfect moment in time." Do you all think that there is any chance of another reunion tour? Oh, how I pray! Please forgive me for the syrupy tone of this post, I guess I'm just a bit melancholy. __________________ And so you see I have come to doubt

Don't apologize!...I know exactly what you mean about feeling melancholy...
In a week it will be exactly a year since I saw the boys in Milwaukee, and trust me, I'm reliving that past experience this time of year (the same June climate/sunset, the same clothes I wear, the same tomato-plant growth)...so call me crazy...
I miss them, too...even tho I saw Artie solo in April...I want more! __________________ "Love is everything."

How strange, that's exactly how I'm feeling too. I took a breath of summer air this morning, and I thought its just like it was at the concert in Hyde Park last year. All the memories came back, the train ride down, and that feeling of excitement, and disbelief that I was actually going to see them both, together again. Oh what I would give to relive that night. I can't believe a year has gone so fast. __________________ Shazza

The exact same things trigger my memories; the weather, the quality of light, the smells, and sounds. This morning, the weather was exactly like that of the wonderful June night when my love for Artie was ignited. hehehe... I guess I'll go through the same emotions in November and April: the two months in which I saw Artie solo. It's funny to think about, last year this time, before I had seen Paul and Art in concert, I was much more of a Paul fan. Honestly, I'm not quite sure why. But when Artie stepped out on stage, my heart melted. I was so amazed by the way every word he spoke seemed to sound like poetry. Art showed such vulnerability. That was the end of me, I have not been quite the same since! I'm just wondering, since you both saw Paul and Artie last year as well, did the crowd at yalls concerts seem to be more enthusiastic than the one on the Old Friends DVD? Honestly, I 'm a bit surprised at how subdued that New York audience appeared. Maybe I'm just familiar with rowdy Southerners, but in St. Louis no one ever sat down. We were all dancing, and singing along. They gave us three or four encores. It was pure magic! __________________ And so you see I have come to doubt

I have that feeling too and since July is coming nearer (last year they were in Amsterdam) I had something big to look forward to. I just hope and pray that I don't get that awful feeling of withdrawal again... __________________ The zebra is the same zebra; we just get to see it from all the angles. - Art Garfunkel - |
