Does anyone have the 1984 playboy interview?  Has it been posted here somewhere?  I searched "playboy" but did not find the article.

Does anyone want copies of the 1981 NY Times comments on the CP concert?

I have it, I'm sure I posted it somewhere.  I'll look again on Monday when I'm back at work.

I don't know, I'm sure he was.  I think Roy Halee was.  I will have a look for the Paul interview again.

Now the question is whether you saw the next issue?  I only mention this because it printed an incisive, analytical and thoughtful letter from a member of this board who shall remain nameless....

Good point, Jean. Did that young man just accidentally happen upon the Paul interview and follow up later while perusing other interests?

Ah yes, but in turth anyone can find anyone else's address, phone number or
e-mail address if they want to. I once wondered whatever had happened to a
favorite actor of mine and so called up SAG. All I wanted to do was to talk to his
agent, I had no idea they gave out personal phone numbers! I was totally shocked
when this actor answered the phone. He asked how I got his phone number and I
said I only thought I was calling your agent. But I must say he was very gracious
when he realized I wasn't some crazy groupie and even remembered movies even
he didn't remember being in. I think that impressed him. I hope so anyway.

Agreed, there's nothing better than to learn English through lyrics. As a kid of 12, I learned my first English through the Beatles' songs. I used to have a dictionary with me and looked up every word I didn't understand. Lyrics and tv were the best way for me to learn English.

So did I! And improved it with the Simon and Garfunkel lyrics.
Much more interesting - and effective - than these boring stories in the class books, something like "Jenny and Tanja in the museum" and so on.

I love the English language, but I really hated it at school!

We had to memorize stuff like:
"Kennen Sie Heinrich?"  "Ja, er ist ein Freund von mir.  Seine Plattenspieler ist Kaput."  "Das ist aber schade."  "Er ist sehr gefährlich. Eines Tages wird er Mitglied der Roten Brigaden."  "Sollen wir ihm Bericht an die Behörden?" "Ja, wir gehen jetzt."

Well, I added the last part.

For me it´s the best way to improve your language skills. I did it the same way. Looking up the lyrics, translating every word I didn´t know and every time I heard the songs, I learned the words without noticing it. I also read a lot of books in English, but first came the music.

In the languages I once learned but don´t use now, because I forgot too much about them I can still sing every song, that I once was interested in. Maybe the lyrics are stored in another part of the brain.

Skywriter, maybe Jenny & Tanja in the museum was in preparation for what happened recently with Paul & Art's letters     you just didn't know it

By the way, Marcia, in one text of my english class book was a great song: "Tommy Sands - There were roses", it's about a bad part of Irish history.
I'm sure you know it.
That was one of the interesting "chapters" of the book.

Great stuff. But the winner is Leslie Mallan from Stewarton, Ayrshire, who clinched the prize with these two crackers: Shanks For The Memories and the old Art Garfunkel classic I Only Have Ribeyes For Stew. Lol!

I hear some preacher/pastor point to this as a religious song. No it is not THE Mary,
who comes to comfort you, I always wonder if I should tell them, McCartney would
not write that kind of song.

Long-term review for Simon and Garfunkel
I hope that have the time to read this accurate  and passionate study album's of S & G, Paul solo and a brief reference to Angel Clare ( Art Garfunkel).
The Simon & Garfunkel Story
 the author is Patrick Humphries
Born in East London, South Africa, in 1956, he studied fine art at the EL Technical College. I work as a sub-editor and page

designer on The Herald in Port Elizabeth. Established in 1845, it is the oldest daily newspaper in the country.

Look, late September is no longer the height of the northern summer, and Simon expresses his concern for the half million fans by asking: “How’re you doing – are you cold? You look great from here.”

That's wrong...it was Artie who asked that.
Thanks annamaria...I just read it in a hurry though. It's quite an article...

Thank you, Tira. your gaze is as fast as a snap. You are right, has been Art to utter those words.

We can call this material “article” ? Perhaps, but in reality it is part of a blog in which the author (that is not an expert musical or something similar) presents his emotions, highlighting the musical passages and the lyrics of each album.

For this I have called that one “ review”.

You can note that the author loves much the voice of Art. I  like very much what it says “Because, on watching that concert, I was struck by just what a wonderful, wonderful voice Art Garfunkel had. And imagine, then, how good it must have been when he was younger. Because here he just stands, hands in the pockets of his jeans, raises his face to the crowd, and lets those notes flow out in a seemingly effortless demonstration of pure vocal power and beauty.”
