Whatever happened to Roy Halee? What does he think about the 'Old Friends' tour? Is he okay and well?

Yes, I would be interested to find out what he's up to. After all, in the studio Simon and Garfunkel was more a trio than a duo - Simon and Garfunkel and Halee!

Paul and Art are now nearly 62 years old, Roy
is over 70 years old - he has retired, his last
work was together with Paul on his Capeman Musical.
Roy was the producer of nearly all Paul Simon albums

The real question is : What about Sarah F? How are you doing, dear? You do remember me--I used to post as Anna R. More scripts are in the making? Hope you are a happy one these days...

it kind of makes me sad that roy has retired. he must have impeccable taste considering that he played such a large role in engineering the sounds that paul and art made on their records.

His last work with Paul was The Capeman? Bad way to go out.

You didn't like The Capeman? I love Paul's album, never got to see the show unfortunately.

I haven't seen it either but I heard that it was a bomb. I read the lyrics and was kind of surprised. But I did love Adios Hermanous, not the words though, the sounds.

I saw Paul on Good Morning America promoting "Capeman," but I never heard any of the music from it. I too heard it was a bomb, but I would be interested in checking out some of the music sometime. I'm not that familiar with Paul's work past the late seventies/ early eighties. I do have "Graceland" and "You're the One," but I don't listen to them much.

Katalin,

As a new fan myself-- of just the past four of five months--I can tell you that Roy Halee was producer for many of S&Gs albums (I believe he started with "PSRT"-does anyone know for sure?)-and is often cited by S&G as sort of the "third member of the group." He took a strong interest in their 'sound' and had a unique relationship with them in that he truly seemed to respect that and brought out a great deal in them as they grew artistically.
Perhaps someone else can be more specific. I just know he was extremely 'instrumental' (pun intended!) in their work and its production.

LOL at the pun, Sara! I'd say your post pretty much covers it.

Katalin,

I believe Billy Mann was the producer for "EWTBN." He was the one who first envisioned a recording featuring Art with Maia and Buddy.
